Black and white finish line action photo of one of New England's first female owner/drivers, Vergery Carson driving Gilded Braden to a first place in the first race of the Oxford County Fair, Norway and South Paris, Maine, on Wednesday, July 22, 1936. Finishing in second place is Noonetime, Haddock up. Crescent Signal took third place. Other horses in the field included His Highness finishing forth; Fair Direct in fifth place; The Outlook in sixth; and Sandy in seventh place. The photo is signed in the lower right corner by photographer Guy Kendall.
