Description

Black and white photo of bay filly Rosalind, T. Berry up, leading the field approaching the finish line in the first heat of the American Stake Two Year Olds Trot at the Saturday, August 3, 1935 Grand Circuit Meet at Rockingham Park, Salem, N.H. The photo also captures bay colt Ed Lasater and Brownie Hanover who finished second and third in the second race of the circuit meet.

Rosalind would go on to become the World Champion trotting mare with a record time of 1.58 1/4, and winner of the 1936 Hambletonian. Foaled in 1933, Rosalind was trained by Ben White and is a member of the Harness Racing Hall of Fame Hall of Immortals.
