Abstract

Error Journal is a manuscript of poetry compiled and edited over a two year period from Fall 2011 to Spring 2013. Distinct from what may be called a "book," these poems operate as an open "collection"; that is, each poem is more or less an autonomous experiment in poetic form (and content), then juxtaposed alongside other poems to create additional arrangements of meaning. Overall, the collection hinges on (and tries to depart from) a strong influence from the poet Robert Creeley. Formally, then, the poems circulate in a tension between imitation and innovation. Through a mixture of individual, serial, and sequence poems, Error Journal searches for and errors into new configurations of form, community, identity, and influence.
