Project Abstract/ Summary
Nicole Ridgway (PhD candidate, University of Western Cape, Cape Town, South Africa) will be presenting her paper, "Between Seeing and Saying: Painting as An Event of Thought," as a special CMJ colloquium on Thursday, September 26 at 2pm in 424 Dunn Hall, Nicole is uniquely interdisciplinary scholar with Masters degrees in Anthropology and Performance Studies. She also has extensive doctoral coursework in Performance Studies and African History. She has been highly successful at publishing and in creative scholarship over the last two decades, holding a number of academic posts. She is on the cusp of completing her doctorate and has agreed to share some of her work on the philosophy of visuality with the campus community.
