Project Abstract/ Summary
The John M. Rezendes Visiting Scholar in Ethics Series was first hosted by the Honors College during the 2002-2003 academic year, coinciding with the Honors College's inauguration. Since then, the Honors College has selected, invited, and coordinated visits of scholars who have addressed ethical issues of national importance on an annual basis. Each year, the selected speaker is asked to conduct seminars, meet with University of Maine students, and present a public lecture which the entire student body and the public at large is encouraged to attend. The 2012 Visiting Scholar in Ethics lecture will be given en April 19 at 3:30pm in Hauck Auditorium, and is planned in coordination with everts marking the inauguration of President Ferguson.
