Project Abstract/ Summary
Since earning his MFA from Yale University, Gideon Bok has gone on to receive a 2004 John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship as well as the Hassam, Speicher, Betts, and Symons Fund Purchase Award through The American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2005. Gideon has received extensive reviews ín The New York Times, Time Out New York, ARTnews, Art New England, and The Boston Globe. Alpha Gallery in Boston represents him currently. His current works, depicting domestic and public interiors, present painterly visions giving his audiences a phenomenologically charged sense space. His lecture will benefit our students particularly well, yet also appeal to the general public.
