Project Abstract/ Summary
Presenter: Robert F. Wescott, Ph.D. (See attached Curriculum Vitae.) Dr. Wescott is an economist of international standing who specializes in international economic policy. He served as senior adviser to President Clinton on international economic and financial policy issues and as chief economist and acting member of the Council of Economic Advisers, a unit within the Executive Office of the President. ln these roles, he has been involved in policy formulation in many key areas, including reform of international financial institutions, U.S. policy toward Russia and China, bilateral policy toward the G-7 countries and major developing countries, and domestic macroeconomic policy. The author of numerous articles on international economic policy, he is currently a consultant with major financial institutions and companies. Dr. Wescott is a native of Gorham, Maine.
